About Sean J. Coughlin, MD

  • Dr. Coughlin grew up in Galveston, Texas, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, especially outdoors. He also enjoys playing golf, guitar, singing, reading history, and helping coach his childrens’ sports.

Internal medicine allows me to evaluate and manage a broad range of complex medical conditions in addition to focusing on preventive medicine. My focus is to effectively communicate with my patients to motivate them to see the benefits of both evidence-based preventive medicine and to be knowledgeable of and proactive with their health when and if diseases develop.

I am happy that appointments are reserved for work-ins. I have a reoccurring issue and when I went to schedule an appointment, the first available was January 14th. The nurse got back to me quickly and I had an appointment two days later. The best part about my visit was that my appointment time was 11:00AM and I was called back on time. That is the first time ever. I am always mentally prepared to wait to be called back at least 30 minutes past my appointment time and then see the doctor 15 minutes after that. The lab technicians were friendly and pleasant.

Two visits a week apart with two different providers was like night and day, with Dr. Coughlin checking the affected area, asking questions, answering my questions and spending time to actually diagnose my condition.
